Pinehurst Resort will hold the US Open Championship for the fourth time in June 2024. It will once again be played on No 2 course, the most famous and acclaimed of the nine courses on the resort.

Previous winners were Payne Stewart 1999, Michael Campbell 2005 and Martin Kaymer 2014, suggesting that a master of the iron shot will have a great chance this year.

The field will be made up of players from the top of the world rankings, top amateur qualifiers. Furthermore, winners of certain events during the year and players who gain entry through qualifying events will also take park. This always leads to an interesting story or two.

Following the low scoring PGA Championship won by Xander Schauffele recently, Pinehurst will surely prove a much tougher test for the best in the world. We look forward to watching the event unfold.

Scottie Scheffler will once again be hot favourite, with Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Xander  Schauffele, Brooks Koepka, Colin Morikawa and Bryson Dechambeau priced as his main challengers. However as usual there will be many top golfers in with a chance of lifting the trophy.
